Physiotherapist, Lymphedema Therapist

Ellen graduated from University of Toronto with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. Previously, Ellen obtained a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from University of New Brunswick and a Bachelor of Science in Applied Human Nutrition from Mount Saint Vincent University. The focus of her most recent employment was inpatient and outpatient orthopedics in a public setting. Specifically, in the hospital setting she worked with patients who had traumatic injuries and orthopaedic surgeries, as well as, facilitated the Inter-Professional Spine Assessment and Educational Clinic (ISAEC) in the outpatient department. Previously, she worked in a private sports medicine clinic, assessing and treating a number of orthopaedic conditions. Ellen is excited to join the excellent team at Haley Rehab and to expand her orthopaedic knowledge into the field of lymphedema management and cancer rehabilitation. She is passionate about health and wellness, and believes in working closely with clients, helping them achieve their individual goals by providing active treatment, education, and encouraging active participation in their rehabilitation. As a lifelong learner, Ellen is enthusiastic about gaining new skills and maintaining a strong knowledge of current research in evidence-based practice to provide quality client-centred care. Ellen continues to pursue new education opportunities, and is excited to have just completed her lymphedema certification from the Academy of Lymphatics and is now a certified lymphedema therapist, for both primary and secondary lymphedema, able to perform manual lymphatic drainage. Outside of work Ellen enjoys being outdoors, hiking, biking and gardening, and she also loves to read, write and cook.
